The children's author David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

An official for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the decision was reached following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving women.

The company has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
