Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Police say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then found numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police report early analysis suggest the fluid was probably human blood.
"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities said they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.
A senior official stated the vandalism rendered him without words and had to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, referring to the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
